As an International Faculty Associate she is active in two projects with the Institute of Water Policy (IWP) at the [http://lkyspp.nus.edu.sg/iwp/faculty/cecilia-tortajada Lee Kyan Yew School for Public Policy] Singapore, where she also was a Visiting Professor:

Tortajada has advised a number of international organisations such as FAO, UNDP, CDG, as well as numerous governments. Her field of expertise ranges from general [[Water_Governance|water governance]] issues on national and international level to specific [[Capacity_Building_for_Environmental_Protection_and_Combating_Climate_Change|capacity building]] in the water sector. She researches on ways to reduce poverty through regional development measures.
