- Vetiver grass hedges protects the land from surface erosion.
- Serves as semi-permeable barriers.
- Filters excess runoff.
- Retains the sediments.
- Improved infiltration enables in situ moisture conservation.
- Cut material from vetiver grass is further used for mulching.
Vetiver is poorly palatable hence can't be used for fodder.
