Abstract
|
The effects of climate change pose major challenges to agriculture worldwide. The frequency and intensity of extreme weather events is increasing and poses a threat to food security. Around 380 million households depend on agriculture for their livelihoods and must adapt to climate change. A new publication highlights the GIZ's multi-stage approach and illustrates how local adaptation capacities can be increased, the resilience of agricultural ecosystems strengthened and the vulnerability of rural populations to climate risks reduced in practice using project examples from GIZ portfolio.
