The agriwaterpedia.info Open Competition is closed now!
Share your knowledge – a Wiki open competition
Water for Food is Water for Life
70% of globally available water resources are used for food production; most of the world’s water resources are managed by those who produce food e.g. farmers and pastoralists. At current levels of water withdrawal the world will be facing a 30% water gap by 2030.[1] However, there has been neglect of agricultural water management policies in development since the 1980s.[2] The resulting loss has affected the knowledge how to manage food production and agricultural water resources across the world. Global climate change will put further pressure on global water resources. Only the right know-how will solve the coming water crises.
Open Competition - Open now!
www.agriwaterpedia.info is the major wiki that focuses on agricultural water management and the challenge of achieving food security in the context of climate change in developing countries. It seeks to engage those who work in agricultural water management to enhance their capacity to implement innovative solutions. agriwaterpedia.info invites the global water and agriculture community to share their knowledge on the most crucial resource of the future: water for food, water for life. For this purpose agriwaterpedia.info has decided to launch an open competition to increase the leverage of knowledge in this area and to invite self-selected contributions to expand the existing knowledge platform.

2) Make it available under the thematical portal(s) you consider relevant for your article.
3) Send it as a pdf to agriwaterpedia@giz.de.
1) Make it available under "Submitted Articles"
Open Competition/Submitted Articles is the page where all competition articles collected. The page gives everybody an easy overview of the titles of articles already submitted. All article titles are supposed to be links, just like on the thematical portal Climate Change etc.
1. Go on "Submitted Articles" and click "Edit".
2. Type in the title of your article and link to to your article.
3. Click "Save page".
2) Make it available under a thematical portal

Therefore choose one of the three portals Climate Change, Food Security or Agricultural Water Management (and in this case, one of the four sub-portals) according to your article's topic and link to your article from its overview page. Don't forget to save your changes!
In case you're not sure which portal suits better you may also consider to place your article in two or more portals.
3) Send it as a pdf
Thirdly, please send an e-mail to agriwaterpedia@giz.de, with your article attached as a .pdf file. The content of the .pdf file must be identical with the content of the article that you have uploaded. If this is not the case, your article can not be considered in the open competition.
